Different Casino Logos or Monograms are one of the main reason, why collecting casino dice is so comprehensive. Every side can be used for a logo. The most common sides are the one and two spot because of the free space. Casino can print their name, location, serial numbers, initials, advertising messages and dates on their dice. The use of graphics and pictures is also common. Older dice often have beautifil monograms and graphics in many different colors. Not long a ago, much of this tradition has been discontinued, but some recent dice had shown a turning trend in this issue.
The most often used color for dice logos is gold followed by silver. These metallic colors are very popular since the 1980s. White, light blue, pink are further colors often used followed by green, red, dark blue, orange and yellow. Some old dice have sometimes lost their color due to sunlight exposure or cleaning with the wrong cleanser. You can bring back the logo, if you use some chalk powder to fill up grooves.
Serial numbers are known as early as the 1940s, but many casinos use them since the 1970s. Almost all current casino dice have serial numbers. Most numbers have 3 or 4 digits, some times you also find letters and dashes.
Some examples of location logo from different casinos.
The casino main logo is almost always located on the one or two spot.
Some different graphics found on dice.
Serial numbers were introduced in the 1970s when corporate casinos were introduced. The numbers are subsequent and usually all dice from the same stick carry the same number. Some casinos use larger dice lots with the same number (e.g. Caesars Palace or Excalibur). Sides with center spots are avoided for the serial number (1, 3, 5). There are some different fonts used for the numbers.
Some casinos use their intitial letters as a logo. This was especially popular some decades ago. Sometimes you also find the initials of the owner on the dice.
A few casinos issued dice with a date logo (e.g. Aladdin, Hilton, Maxim). Other casinos add a secondary logo (examples from the Bally's and Paris Las Vegas are shown). Adverting slogans are also used (Las Vegas Club dice with phone number and Lakeside Inn dice with allusion to their 10 x odds [pictures coming soon]).
To conclude this chapter, some examples of multicolor logos.

The value of used casino dice depends on the value they have for you. Maybe you want some dice from the first casino you have played craps. Maybe you collect just dice from a certain city or state. Or you are specialized in obsolete or colored dice.
Then such dice have a very unique value for you and others don't. I just want to say, that every collector has to establish his own grading and preferences. Below are my priorities:

This makes dice MORE valuable for me:

Many casinos sell their used dice in the casino gift shop for about $ 0.25 - $ 4.00 per pair. Casinos with frequent tourist visitors don't have enough dice to sell and you only find them from time to time. Other casinos give their dice away when you join the players club or you can get them as a comp from the pit boss. I have spent countless hours in gift shops when I tried to find matching pairs or even sticks. If I don't buy dice directly from the gift shop, I use this table to determine the value dice have for me:

There are still casinos which destroy their dice after use and don't let the public have them at all. Although this is very sad for a collector, I don't want to discuss the casinos security policy. Sometimes the best source you might have is when you know a dealer or manager from such a casino...
Be careful from whom you buy used casino dice. As with every collectible item, there are always people who try to rip you off and sell their valueless dice as "unique", "rare", "obsolete" and "scarce" for huge prices. eBay is a common place for such overpriced scams. I do know many of the online dice sellers and most of them are truly honest people dedicated to the hobby. For some reasons I don't want to list the names from "good" and the "bad" guys on my website. If you have any doubt about someone, just ask me and I will tell you me expierences with this particular person.
If you want to buy new precision dice without a casino logo to practice at home, there are several gambling shops around who sell them for $ 10 - 13 per stick.
